Calendar Settings

Customize your calendar experience to match your workflow and operational needs. The Settings Panel gives you control over time slot intervals, visual layouts, and display preferences, ensuring your calendar works exactly how you need it to.

Layout and Display Settings

Time Configuration

Time Slot Granularity

Choose how finely your calendar divides time slots. Select 15 minutes for maximum precision during busy periods, 30 minutes for balanced detail and overview, or 60 minutes for a simplified view ideal for strategic planning.

Operating Hours

Set when your calendar starts and ends each day. Configure your start time (earliest displayed time, such as 8:00 AM), end time (latest displayed time, such as 10:00 PM), and enable 24-hour support for round-the-clock operations.

Calendar Layout Mode

Vertical Layout displays time flowing from top to bottom with assets arranged horizontally across the top. This layout works best for detailed time management and mobile devices.

Horizontal Layout displays time flowing from left to right with assets arranged vertically down the left side. This layout excels on wide screens and is ideal for asset comparison and capacity planning.

Switch between layouts using the toggle in the header.

Default View Preferences

View Type Defaults

Time Span Preferences

Configure which view loads by default when accessing the calendar. Choose 1 Day View for single-day detailed management, 3 Days View for multi-day planning, or Week View for weekly strategic overview.

Persistent Preferences

Settings are saved per site, ensuring a consistent experience across different browser sessions, multiple devices, and various access points.

Asset Class Configuration

Default Asset Selection: Choose which asset classes are visible by default when the calendar loads:

  1. Review Asset Classes: Browse available asset classes
  2. Select Defaults: Check asset classes that should display by default
  3. Test Visibility: Verify the selection provides appropriate information density
  4. Save Configuration: Apply asset selection as default for future sessions
  5. Adjust as Needed: Modify default selections based on operational changes

Performance and Optimization Settings

Display Optimization

Asset Display Limits: Configure maximum number of assets displayed simultaneously:

  • Performance optimization for large facilities
  • Smart loading for improved responsiveness

Refresh Rate Configuration:

  • Automatic refresh intervals for real-time updates
  • Manual refresh options for controlled data updates

Saving and Managing Settings

Apply and Cancel Actions

Apply Settings saves all current configuration changes and immediately applies them to your current session. When selected, preferences are also stored for future sessions.

Cancel Changes discards all unsaved configuration changes and returns settings to their previously saved state without impacting your current calendar display.

Settings Persistence

Site-Level Settings are applied to specific site configurations and inherited by all users accessing that site, providing administrative control over site-wide preferences.

Common Configuration Scenarios

Daily Operations Setup

For detailed daily management, configure your calendar with 1 Day View and Vertical Layout for a traditional calendar feel. Set 15 or 30-minute granularity for detailed scheduling, match your Operating Hours to business hours (such as 8 AM - 10 PM), and display only actively used asset classes to reduce clutter.

Strategic Planning Setup

For broader strategic oversight, use Week View with Horizontal Layout to enable asset comparison. Set 60-minute granularity for a simplified planning view, configure full operational range for operating hours, and show all asset types to support comprehensive capacity analysis.

Event Management Setup

For event planning coordination, 3 Days View provides the optimal planning window. Choose either vertical or horizontal layout based on your preference, set 30-minute granularity to balance event detail with overview, extend operating hours for event setup and breakdown, and focus on event-capable assets.

Troubleshooting Settings Issues

Performance Issues

Common Performance Issues

Performance problems typically arise from displaying too many asset classes simultaneously, using very fine time granularity with extended time ranges, or running multiple simultaneous refresh operations.

Optimization Strategies

Improve performance by reducing the number of displayed asset classes, using coarser time granularity for overview tasks, limiting operating hours to necessary periods, and restricting automatic refresh during heavy usage periods.
